"Wind"
Maharishi: "Enlightenment is irrespective of anything in the relative field.
Nothing could be an obstacle to enlightenment. However dense the darkness and however long it may have existed, one ray of
the rising sun is enough to dispell the darkness, though it takes time to reach the brightness of the midday sun.
Even a momentary flash of Transcendental Consciousness is enough to dispel the illusion of ignorance, though it takes time to gain full enlightenment in God Consciouisness, where
one has crossed over all evil on the raft of knowledge. This brings hope even to a man whose life may be full of wrong-doing.
Sin produces coarseness in the nervous system, preventing it from functioning normally
and obstructing its ability to give rise to pure consciousness. Such an impaired state of the nervous system prevents Being
from directly influencing the field of activity. This is how, by attacking the physical structure of the nervous system --
and thus preventing pure consciousness from being lived in
daily life -- sin causes sorrow and suffering.
Knowledge, in eliminating this possibility, at the
same time roots out all possibility of sorrow and suffering. This verse recommends taking refuge in knowledge in order
to rise above the possibility of any sin in life, and promises redemption even to the worst sinner in the world."
